We are really excited to sponsor this campaign that will directly affect three, single-parent familes in the Longmont, CO area. We are commiting to giving to this campaign with the hope of donating $10,000 in 2020 to Pearl which is providing direct assistance to these three families.

Pearl is a 501(c)(3) Christ-centered organization providing single-parent families the hope and skills necessary to build an economically and emotionally stable home environment through sustainable programs.

P.E.A.R.L.S: Providing Empowerment & Acceptance through Resources & Love for Single Parents.

Pearl offers assistance through several different avenues such as car donations, car repairs, counseling, mentorship for the children of the single parents as well as camp and college scholarships. One of the main ways Pearl assists single parents is through their Pearls Program. The program directs financial assistance to moms that have shown that they are ready and willing to work their way out of poverty. This allows Pearl to come along side them as a hand up rather then just a hand out. They are currently assisting six families on a monthly basis and would like to bring on three more moms that have met the requirements to receive financial assistance in 2020. To help take on three more moms this year, they need to raise additional support and we are hoping to bring in $10,000 for them this year.

Here's a quick look at the stories of the three moms who they would like to add to their program assistance in 2020.

Stacy has been attending the Single Moms Group at LifeBridge consistently for the last year and a half. She has shown the desire to grow in her faith and has a determined and motivated attitude. She is working to develop career goals, seek healthy relationships, and envision a successful future. She is a recovering drug addict that has been clean for over two years. She is working to complete her education and we look forward to seeing her future unfold into a beautiful success story. She is currently going to school to be a certified addiction counselor and is working at a rehabilitation center to help others overcome addiction like herself. She has recently regained guardianship of her four children and received the honor of being a recipient of the Family Self Sufficiency Program. Her demonstrated commitment to be a responsible parent and vision to become a certified addiction counselor has made her a positive role model and a leader for other single moms, who not only want to become self-sufficient for their children but also desire to help others in their community.

Meaghan and her three children relocated out of state to Longmont during the flood. She left a relationship that left her and her family heartbroken. She and her family had nowhere to live so they lived in their vehicle. Two of her children have become longtime mentees of the Pearl Kid Mentoring program. She has participated in Pearls partnership with professional counseling, successfully completed "The Getting Ahead Class" facilitated by Pearl, and is a loyal member of the Single Moms Group. She has faced many challenges as a parent including her oldest child being on the spectrum. She faces things head on and is an overcomer. She has had the same full time job for over five years, is attending the University of Phoenix to complete her Associate of Business Management and then she plans to become a Certified Spanish Interpreter. She is determined to succeed and is a prayer warrior. We are impressed by her courage and how she assists the other single moms in the group with autitstic children to overcome challenges and receive resources for their children to complete their education.

Julia is an expecting mother with two children. She has been attending Single Moms group for over three years. She is extremely optimistic. She was an orphan for many years and then was transported from foster home to foster home. She was involved in an abusive relationship and was abandoned by the church when she left her abuser. She worked for Project 31:25 and scheduled for the executive director to talk to the Single Moms Group about domestic violence and how to identify it. She has openly shared her story in order to inspire the Moms to remove themselves from abusive relationships and to understand how valuable they are in the eyes of God. She completed the Rooted Bible study twice and is a consistent weekend service attender at LifeBridge. This past fall, she has started college at Colorado Christian University to complete her Bachelor degree in Psychology.
