Pictured: This is what’s left of Mrs. “Amanda”’s home. Together with her husband and later with the help of her children, she worked hard to build a house of her own. It took her 40 years to finish construction. Even though she is not physically injured, after what happened a week ago Tuesday she is inconsolable, without knowing how to deal with the tragedy of losing her home and having to settle in a one-room structure.

Urban Mosaic is working to get her out of danger’s way, while training people in the community so they can give adequate counsel and emotional support to Mrs. Amanda and others in a similar situation. Want to help Amanda and others like her? Read on. (*Photo credit- Urban Mosaic)

Urban Mosaic’s Response is Four Fold:

1. Psycho-Emotional and Pastoral Support for Those Experiencing Trauma

2. Community Training in Disaster Response

3. Medical Help for people living in Shelters

4. Neighborhood Clean-Up and Safety Assurance

Overall, UM needs about $18,000 to meet their disaster relief needs. We hope to help by raising 5K as soon as possible. The needs here are dire and urgent and every dollar goes very far. We love what Urban Mosaic does and how they do it- empowering communities without creating dependency.

Please consider helping UM impact hundreds and hundreds of lives in this moment of crisis…sharing the good news of Jesus while also providing phsyco-emotional support, training and empowerment to those most affected and least supported by other local aid /relief efforts.
